Region 18 President's Message by Brad Moses

Belonging to and participating in a great professional organization such as AITP has both its personal as well as professional rewards. I'm recovering well from my triple bypass operation in September. The wishes and prayers received from the members/friends in Region 18 meant a lot to me - they boosted my spirits and helped me in my healing process.  I want to thank all of you for your support.  I also want to thank the officers of Region 18 for handling my responsibilities in addition to their own, during this time.  We're very fortunate to have professionals dedicated to AITP like your present Region 18 officers, committee chairpersons and committee members.

Roger Frame, our Region 18 Executive Vice President, will be representing us at the AITP Association Meetings in Appelton, Wisconsin, the latter part of this week. I hope there are others in our Region that will also be attending. If you're going to the annual Association meeting, be sure and get in touch with Roger - I know he would love to see you while you're there.

I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone at the Region 18 Leadership Conference 2001 "Working Together Makes Sense", January 19 - 21, 2001 at the Charleston Marriott Town Center, Charleston, West Virginia. There are more details in this newsletter. Your Leadership Conference Committee has been working very hard to make this the best one yet. If you've never attended one of Region 18's Leadership Retreats/Conferences, then you definitely need to make it a point to do so. Talk with anyone that has attended in the past and I'm sure they'll tell you how great they are.

The mission of the Leadership Region is to add long-term value to AITP by:
Representing the Information Systems industry
Promoting professionalism of the IS industry
Assisting IT professionals in preparing for the future.

We've been working very hard to accomplish the Leadership Region mission.  We hope you take advantage of  all the hard work and efforts that have been put forth by members of the Leadership Region in achieving its mission - such as attending The Leadership Conference. I want to express my appreciation to so many of our Region members for their support and hard work in helping our Region achieve its' mission. Please, don't stop your efforts, instead, continue to help us, your Region Officers, improve upon what so many of us have worked long and hard to develop so that all of our Region members can benefit.

Together with the support from my fellow Region officers and you, we can continue to make this a very positive and beneficial year for all of our members.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Region President and I look forward to seeing everyone in Charleston, West Virginia on, January 19 - 21, 2001.
