Developing A Virus Incident Response Plan
Matt Neely
No matter how much planning and work goes into virus protection, eventually a virus will infect your systems. When this time comes, having a strong virus incident response plan can be the difference between a small problem and a major catastrophe.
This presentation will focus on how to develop a virus incident response plan. The majority of the presentation will focus on two things. The first will be the processes that should be in place. The second will be the type of information that should be gathered before an incident occurs. The remainder of the presentation will focus on the steps to take once an incident happens and how to improve the response process once the incident has ended.
Matthew Neely has a bachelor degree in Sociology focusing on the criminology of computer crimes. Computers have been a life long hobby for him. For the past six years he has worked in the computer industry, focusing on information security for the past three. Matthew is presently employed at National City Corporation as a security analyst. Among his many responsibilities at National City he designs and monitors intrusion detection systems, audits systems for compliance, performs investigations and is a member of their incident response team.
