Text Box:   Well! This is it! All year the Akron Chapter of AITP has announced that 2003 is our 50th year. This month we are having our celebration meeting. We’ve been trying to make contact with as many of our former members as possible. We were able to reach many of you, but did not find everyone. If you are a past member and did not receive an invitation in the mail, you are still more than welcome to join us. I want to personally invite all of you to attend this month’s special 50th Anniversary meeting on October 28, 2003. If you did receive an invitation but did not yet send in your ticket order, we’ve extended the deadline. Of course guests are welcome too. We must give Tangiers a count of attendees, so please send your order in by October 21st. The event will be held at the newly remodeled Tangier Restaurant. If you have not seen the new Tangier yet, then this is a great opportunity. It should be a fun night. We have Chuck Kern coming for the presentation. Those of you that have heard him speak at other National and Regional events, know what a great speaker he is. Page one of the newsletter has all the info about the event, and there is an order form for tickets at the end. Be sure to get your reservation in ASAP and plan to join us and reminisce. All past members and guests have been important keys to reaching this plateau and we applaud you. Without your efforts, the organization would not have provided a service to the technology profession for so many years. I am honored to be the President of such a great organization at such a historic time. It is those who have preceded me that have made the Akron Chapter what it is today.
