Text Box:   We did it! The Akron Chapter of AITP celebrated our 50th anniversary at the monthly meeting last month. Be sure to catch the articles in this newsletter to find out more. I just want to say "Thanks" to all of the people who helped to make it a success. When I asked for help with the planning several people jumped right in and did a great job. Chuck Kern of Bayer Corporation made the program presentation, which was both informative and entertaining. Be sure to notice the people who got awards in the last two months. They are featured in this newsletter and in last month’s. These awards were earned by being active members of AITP. As we start to look towards the new year, which is just around the corner, I want you to consider becoming more involved in the Chapter too. The people who volunteer and get involved in AITP are the people who achieve the most professional and personal growth and satisfaction. You get more out of any organization when you put more into it. AITP volunteering gives you the tools you need to become a success. You can: Gain invaluable networking contacts; Acquire important management skills; Develop leadership skills; Refine your presentation skills; Improve your business writing ability; Learn important mentoring and coaching skills; Receive professional development training that would normally cost your company additional training money. Please come out and help us. I have a few jobs available for next year and would welcome your expertise and input. This month’s meeting will be the last one of the year. Our presentation will be "Empowering Success for Global Competition" by Joseph LaMantia. Please join us. We do not meet in December, so enjoy the holidays with your family and friends.
